Arlen Specter becomes Democrat

By Common Sense Republican

Here is a classic example of why we need term limits in Congress.

Arlen Specter’s decision to change party affiliation is clearly based on the desire to keep his power.  It is not based on his political beliefs.  This is a perfect expample of the lust for power that drives so many American politicians.  The truth behind the matter is that he knows that he faces an extraordinarily challenging race in the upcoming election from within the conservative republican sector.

He would rather comprimise the principles he once stood for and become a hipocrite just to keep his power.  What a sad sad American.  What a sad day in American politics.  The manly thing to do here would be to step down.

Isn’t this just a prime example of what has happened on a grass roots level in this country?  The fundamental conservative values that this nation was born into continue to fade from existence.   Would a true American patriot choose the path Arlen Specter has chosen?  I don’t think so.  If he really had a shift in his underlying political philosophy, he would choose to step down.  He would choose to step down because he can no longer adequately represent the people who elected him.  But no, not this man.  He can’t stop drinking from the cup of blood called congress.  The political alcoholism has entrenched itself with full force throughout the man’s veins.

Remember folks…..  Absolute power currupts absolutely.

He is just as guilty of political treason as Hillary Clinton was for becoming a senatorial carpet bagger in New York.  She moved to New York for the sole purpose of running for Patrick Moynihan’s soon to be vacant Senate seat. What a perfect example of power lust. To these people it is all about power and nothing else.

To Mr. Specter : You have once again shown the world that the American Congress is just as tainted with egomaniacal power mongers as the lesser developed countries of the world. Shame on you sir. Shame on you.

I look forward to you losing your race for re-election in 2010.
